Friendship Counselling
aBOUT Friendship Counselling
Friendships are one of the most meaningful and emotionally rich relationships we have — yet they’re often left out of the therapy room. If you and a close friend are experiencing tension, disconnection, or hurt and want to find a way forward together, friendship counselling can offer a safe, structured space to talk, listen, and repair.
This is a space where both of you can be heard. We’ll explore the dynamics between you with care and curiosity, giving space to unspoken feelings, misunderstandings, and unmet needs, while also holding onto the love and history that brought you together in the first place.
This Space Might Be Right For You If:
- You’re navigating a rupture or fallout and want to repair
- There’s ongoing tension, jealousy, or miscommunication
- One or both of you feel emotionally unsupported or unheard
- Boundaries feel unclear or are causing friction
- You’re grieving a shift in your friendship and want to process it together
- You’re exploring how past experiences (including trauma or family roles) affect how you show up in friendship
- You value the friendship deeply and want to strengthen your connection
How We’ll Work
I offer a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where both voices are valued and respected. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural perspectives. We’ll look at both the practical and emotional aspects of your friendship, including communication patterns, emotional safety, attachment styles, and cultural or identity-based expectations that may be influencing the way you relate.
If your friendship matters to you and you want to work through a difficult time together, you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a supportive space where repair, clarity, and reconnection are possible.
